People are really freaking out about the Miley Cyrus “topless” Vanity Fair photographs. Disney is blaming photographer Annie Leibovitz., saying that she and VF created a situation “to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines.” Vanity Fair is standing by the images, emphasizing that Cyrus’s “parents and/or minders were on the set all day,” and Leibovitz is calling the photos “very beautiful.” Cyrus has issued a public apology over the photos, but I guess what bothers me about the situation is not that a 15-year-old has been sexualized, its that the scenario has taken away her agency entirely. Last week, Hollywood was buzzing with the news of Miley Cyrus and her scandalous Vanity Fair photo spread. Disney was suddenly flooded with complaints from parents feeling as though these photos were making her a bad role model for their children. This week, Miley was suddenly absent from a charity competition where she was scheduled to make an appearance, yet no one is speaking on why she wasn’t there. Coincidence or punishment?
Jonas Brothers reality show coming to Disney channel

While teen pop stars, the Jonas Brothers, are wrapping up the fina leg of their Look Me In The Eye Tour, they are also finsihing up filming their new reality tv show that will air on Disney this spring. The new reality series will also see the record a third album, another Disney show, entitled J.O.N.A.S, and a TV movie, Camp Rock, which will hit the air in June.

Teen star of Disney’s Hannah Montana Show will host the CMT Awards with her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, Billy Ray is a former country music star from the 90’s who now co-stars on the Hannah Montana show with his daughter Miley. This is what Billy Ray had to say about the honor:
“Miley and I are so excited to be hosting the CMT Music Awards,” Billy Ray said. “We know it will be a fun-filled night with a lot of great music performances.” The pair have pocketed a duet called “Ready, Set, Don’t Go” but it is not confirmed by organizers what piece they will be playing at the Nashville event.

Teen pop music group, the Jonas Brothers are not playboys at all. In fact, the member of the band have informed Details magazine that they are all virgins and saving themselves for marriage. Nick Jonas dated Disney’s Hannah Montana’s Miley Cyrus for a little while last year.

It turns out that Disney’s High School Musical star, Zac Efron, is a huge fan of American Idol, and he thinks all of the contestants are very brave to follow their dreams on the reality show..
“[The show] deals with regular people who really have a dream and like to perform,” the High School Musical star told MTV recently. “I have such admiration for those guys — they go literally from zero to 60 in a matter of days and they handle it like champs… I couldn’t have done that: go to the peak of your fame within a month of starting.”
Efron says in past seasons he’s gone down to watch American Idol live.
“A few years ago, I went, like, almost every week,” he says. “It’s a completely different experience live. You really get to see who is a good singer, and who can really captivate a crowd. And you can tell it’s really influential on the judges’ decisions.”

Consumer reports angry with Miley Cyrus for Hannah Montana movie
The Consumer Reports are lashing out at Miely Cyris via OK Magazine. Apparantly, there is a scene in the new Hannah Montana movie with Miely inside a Land Rover, but she is not wearing a seatbelt. This is what the Consumer Reports had to say about the scene in the film.
Consumer Reports writes:
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in about 55 percent of passenger vehicle fatalities in 2006 (the latest data available), the occupants were not wearing seat belts. Even worse, in the 13- to 15-year-old age group, that percentage climbs to 65 percent. Unfortunately, we’re not surprised by these grim statistics because a 2002 survey by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety showed that when parents were dropping teens off at school in the morning, nearly half the teens weren’t using seat belts.
It seems to us that Miley, her father, and Disney had a perfect opportunity to help influence teens and counteract—rather than encourage—this trend. Then again, as Hannah herself sings, “Everybody makes mistakes.” Maybe Hannah, Billy and Disney, will take a tip from the rest of Hannah’s song and get it right next time around: “Nobody’s Perfect! I gotta work it! Again and again ’til I get it right. Nobody’s Perfect!”
Wow! That’s really intense.
