New York’s own 50 Cent has broken his silence and offered insight on the conflict between himself and label mate Young Buck. With a taped conversation between the two artist mysteriously leaking onto the Internet, a diss track towards 50 and G Unit by Buck, the people waited for a response from the hip hop power player.
In a phone interview with radio personality Angie Martinez of New York City’s Hot 97, the rapper finally discussed the huge controversy, along with marriage rumors, Taco Bell fiasco, and hip hop’s newest “soundscan killer” Lil Wayne.
50 admitted in the interview that he personally leaked the phone call, and that the conversation took place with in the last three months. The rapper continued to say, that when Buck’s actions began to clash with G-Unit guidelines, he felt problems would arise from past experiences.
He went on to elaborate that Buck built a relationship with Game, increased financial problems, making ill advised statements and unpredictability forced 50 to prepare for how things have recently played out.
After Buck claimed he hadn’t received royalty checks, 50 grew tired of trying to repair the relationship. The leaked conversation was in response to Buck performing at a show screaming out, “Fuck G-Unit. ”
“If that didn’t take place, none of this would have happened” 50 tells Angie. “I’m not gonna respond on record to Young Buck” he continued.
To add further humiliation, he said “If he knew how to rap before he met me, no one knew him period.” He then discussed the fact that Buck still owed him 200k, and he wasted money on foolish things like rims on a new SUV.
In the process 50 admitted that he tapes every conversation that he feels is with an “idiot.”
Also other tidbits from the interview, 50 denied being married and claims he was wearing a ring for his role in a movie and never took it off.
On Lil Wayne, 50 expressed amazement, confusion and shock over a million records sold, but he was very happy, and applauded him. He didn’t understand what listening audience went out and bought all those albums.
